Successful systems will attract those who wish to hijack that success for their own ends, most often by the use of deception. I think we can safely say that the Linked Data web is not yet successful because it has not attracted that level of spam attack. With the Google and Yahoo's adoption of RDFa I think we'll see that change in the next twelve months. In anticipation of future attacks I thought it would be a useful exercise to try and predict some of the possible vectors for introducing spam into a Linked Data system. Some of the spam vectors are going to be traditional, rooted in the existing web. However, some are going to be new, made possible by the open world aspects and low cost integration possibilities provided by Linked Data. טכנולוגיה, רגע של פרספקטיבה

הרבה פעמים בעודנו עוסקים, שלא לומר טובעים, בבעיות טכנולוגיות / עסקיות כאלו ואחרות, קל לנו לאבד קצת פרספקטיבה על בעיות אמיתיות ומקומה של הטכנולוגיה בכל הסיפור הזה. הרבה יותר קל לנו להתמקד באיך להביא חתיכות מידע ממקומות שונים, או איך לקנפג את הצ'ופצ'יק של הקומקום כדי שישרוק לנו בדיוק בסולם הנכון.
ובסופו של דבר, גם כשאנו מתעסקים בתפקיד הטכנולוגיה בעולמנו, אנחנו נוטים לנתח ולהגג על כל גרעפס של גורו או מנכ"ל כזה או אחר. גם אם אנו מרחיקים לכת ומעיזים לנחש טרנדים כאלה או אחרים, אנו נוטים להסתכל מספר שנים מועט, עשרות לכל היותר, קדימה.

זו הסיבה שההרצאה של ג'יל טרטר עוררה אצלי ענין. ב 21 דקות בהן היא חולקת את החזון שלה מעל בימת TED, הצליחה גב' טרטר להחזיר אותי לפרספקטיבה על תפקידה של הטכנולוגיה בחיינו. דווקא משום שההרצאה כלל לא עוסקת בפן הטכנולוגי, אלא מזכירה אותו בדרך אגב ומביאה אותנו להבנה של "למה לעזאזל אנחנו עושים את זה".

מעבר לכך, מעניין לראות שגם הרשת זוכה לאזכור חולף, אם כי בעקיפין. בזכות הדברים האלה אנו זוכים במוטיבציה משמעותית במחקר ופיתוח של טכנולוגיות רשת (דקה 18:25). הרשת בכלל, והסמנטית בפרט, היא יותר מעוד דרך לשווק וליצר פרסומות. יש בשביל מה לעבוד, וזה לא תמיד בצבע ירוק.

שווה להשקיע 21 דקות מהחיים כדי לקבל קצת פרופורציות וזריקת מוטיבציה (קטנה, מהצד, לא כואב...).

הרשת בת 20

ככה בקטנה, עבר לו יום השנה ה 20 להצעה המקורית של ה Web.

אומנם 20 שנה עברו, אבל מעניין לראות שכבר בהצעה המקורית נכללו רבים מהרעיונות שאנו מעבדים רק כיום - קישוריות של מידע על "דברים" שונים, לא רק מסמכים.

וכנראה שאין מישהו שיכול לתת פרספקטיבה יותר טובה על הקשר הזה מהאדם שהתחיל את הכל, כתב את ההצעה המקורית וממשיך לדחוף אותה כיום.

הרשת הסמנטית: מחקר

במסגרת שיטוטיי הקבועים ברחבי האינטרטט, נתקלתי במאגר מרשים ביותר , 128 מאמרים נכון לרגע זה, של מאמרים בנושא הרשת הסמנטית. הרשימה ממוקמת ב Mindswap - אתר שעוסק במחקר על הרשת הסמנטית באופן קבוע.
רוב המאמרים, אם כי לא כולם, הם מאמרים אקדמים במהותם (peer reviewed), ועוסקים בנושאים טיפה איזוטרים לפעמים, או ברמת פירוט שלא מענינת את המיישם או הקורא חפץ החיים.

עם זאת, יש כמה מאמרים שנראים מענינים לכל מי שעוסק ומתענין בנושא, גם אם לא בצורה אקדמית רשמית:
